Do you sometimes hide your laugh or maintain a poker face instead of smiling confidently? If you’re self-conscious about your teeth, you’re not alone. In 2024, an estimated 35 million Americans are expected to use tooth-whitening products, highlighting how important a bright smile is to many people like you. However, over-the-counter teeth whiteners available in pharmacies and grocery stores may not deliver the lasting results you’re looking for. Imagine having whiter teeth that stay radiant. At East Longmeadow Family Dental Center, Dr. Zirakian offers dental veneers as a permanent solution for teeth whitening. With cosmetic dentistry, achieving a bright, lasting smile has never been easier!
What Is Permanent Teeth Whitening?
While dental veneers might not be the first thing you think of for teeth whitening, they’re an excellent choice for efficiently brightening your smile and ensuring long-lasting results.
Dental veneers are thin white shells that cover your teeth like a press-on nail but with much more stability. Bonded to the outer surface of your teeth, veneers allow you to smile with beautiful white teeth that look and feel natural.
Dr. Zirakian can match your veneers to the color of your surrounding teeth or create the exact shade of white you desire for a stunning smile. These thin covers are fully customizable, and if you’re not completely satisfied, he’ll send them back to the lab for adjustments.
Veneers are available in two materials: tooth-colored composite resin and durable porcelain. While composite veneers can stain over time, porcelain veneers are remarkably stain-resistant, making them an excellent choice for maintaining a bright and lasting smile. Porcelain veneers are also exceptionally strong and designed to withstand the wear and tear of daily life. However, like natural teeth, they require proper care to ensure they last a lifetime. Although veneers help keep your teeth white and flawless, maintaining good oral hygiene is essential to prevent oral health issues.
Comprehensive Cosmetic Dentistry
Beyond whitening, veneers offer extensive customization to address various dental imperfections. At East Longmeadow Family Dental Center, we meticulously craft veneers to hide any flaws and enhance the overall beauty of your smile. Whether you want to achieve straighter, more uniform teeth or conceal stains, chips, and cracks, we can tailor dental veneers to create your ideal smile. If you have multiple dental issues you’d like to correct, veneers provide a comprehensive solution.
The Dental Veneer Process
Dr. Zirakian is a trained professional that you can trust to permanently whiten your teeth using durable dental veneers!
To be a candidate for dental veneers, you must have healthy teeth and gums. This means no major issues like untreated cavities or gum disease, as veneers are meant to enhance the appearance of structurally sound teeth. Addressing any dental health issues first helps ensure the longevity and success of the veneers.
If you’re a good candidate for veneers, Dr. Zirakian will design your custom treatment plan, which is typically completed over two appointments. At your first visit, we will use a local anesthetic to numb the area. Since veneers sit flush against your teeth, Dr. Zirakian must make room for them. To do so, he will remove a thin layer of your front-facing enamel. After preparing your teeth, he will place temporary veneers to preserve your smile.
Your final veneers will arrive from the dental lab after about two weeks. At this time, you will come in for your second appointment. Dr. Zirakian will place your final veneers in your mouth, check their look, and determine if your bite is aligned properly. If you don’t absolutely love what you see, he will send your veneers back to the lab for alteration. If you do love them, Dr. Zirakian will cement them in place, leaving you with a beautiful new smile!
