The porcelain veneers process is very simple, as it is a minimally invasive procedure that only takes a few visits to complete. As always at East Longmeadow Family Dental Center, you begin your journey to a beautiful smile with a free consultation and complimentary exam.
Free Consultation
At your free consultation, we will discuss your needs and find a solution that works for you. If you are interested in veneers, we must first perform a complimentary exam to determine if you are eligible. A good candidate for veneers is someone with a healthy smile, without a lot of cavities.
As porcelain veneers only cover the outside of your teeth, the tooth structure beneath the veneer must be in great shape. If we find any underlying problems in your smile like an untreated root canal infection or gum disease, we must treat them before considering veneers.
Once we determine your smile is healthy enough for veneers, we can begin the planning process.
1st Visit
At your first visit, we must prepare your teeth for veneers. Because we place these thin sheets of porcelain on top of your teeth, we have to create room for them to sit flush, creating a seamless appearance with the natural teeth in your smile. To do this, we gently remove some of the front facing enamel from your tooth, preparing the surface for your veneer. The preparation process is minimally invasive and painless, as we use a local anesthetic to keep you numb and comfortable.
After preparing your teeth, we will place a temporary set of veneers that serve two primary functions. 2nd Visit

If you are unhappy with any aspect of your final veneers and we can’t fix it there in the chair, we will send it back to the lab for fixing!
